So I had a weird realization today. I’m addicted to speed and g-forces.

Kinja'd!!!

Like I think everyone gets frustrated when they’re driving below the speed limit or a certain speed, but I think for most people it’s that instant gratification mindset we’ve developed as a species these days. However, even when I’m not going anywhere I still drive fast.

I will speed up going towards an s-curve. I drive fast on my favorite old back road loops when I have nowhere to go other than just for a drive. I can’t go for a Sunday cruise in the traditional sense.

I know most of us are like that here. But I’m sure it’s not normal. Maybe I shoulda been an astronaut?

I love the rush of acceleration (I squealed in joy the first time my friend stepped on the go pedal on a 550i) and the g force of a turn (discovered in a Evo)

Yeah. I try to do the race car driver grip at 9 and 3 while turning when I can. It feels pretty awesome when you manage to take a turn just right and the car feels neutral as you exit.

To me it’s not even speed, it’s the “oh shit” limit. On the Slowrunner it’s so low, I can get a good laugh legally, and that is a quality few cars have.

Going 60 on a freeway ramp kinda-turn that recommends 35.

It’s that kind of thrill.

For me that entirely depends on what I’m driving. In my SHO there was a lot of heavy right foot antics because that Yamaha engine sounds awesome and its a stick shift to boot.

Kinja'd!!!

Its parked now because the K member is falling out, so I’m driving the Oldsmobile. That car is not conducive to hard driving. Put it in drive and just float along the road.

Kinja'd!!!

The van is in a weird place. Its so slow and so top heavy even at 20 km under the limit, it feels like I’m doing Mach 2. But show it some dirt and between the low range transfer case, the 1 ton axles and 12000 pound winch it’ll get you anywhere you need to go.

Yeah, A bit. That’s why I’m the Trike Whisperer.

It’s not the Gs. It’s the Oppo!

How are you enjoying the old girl? I’m currently on the hunt for a Toyota Sienna or Suzuki XL-7. What a change!

I’m not much for BMWs, but I think we can agree 100% on the 550i.

Stevo777 has one, and it makes a very naughty sound when you mash the go pedal in it.

Sound? The 550i is a goddamn whisper, you step on the go Pedal there's no sound

The more the speed builds, the more physically aroused I become. Had to stop wearing gym shorts to the race track, because ride-alongs got a bit awkward...

Not bad. Needs a carb kit and I still need to do the dog leg. Looking for two more snow tires now.
